In Central America there is a high need for investments in infrastructure. Around 7 million people don’t have access to the electricity network. Renewable energy has great potential.
With a long-term credit line of EUR 30 million for the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), OeEB contributes to the improvement of infrastructure in Central America. The funds will be used to finance private sector infrastructure projects, of which at least 60% will be dedicated to the renewable energy sector.
