Şekerbank is one of Türkiye’s leading private banks and has been an important financing partner for agricultural businesses as well as micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) for more than 70 years. Among the country’s private deposit banks, it has the highest share of agricultural lending. In addition, Şekerbank has extensive experience in green finance and was one of the first banks in Türkiye to introduce a dedicated financing product for energy and resource efficiency measures. OeEB already supported these activities in 2009 together with KfW. Furthermore, Şekerbank is committed to financial inclusion and the promotion of women in entrepreneurship. In doing so, it contributes to economic development and the sustainable transformation of the Turkish economy.
