OeEB invests USD 30.5 million in the Microfinance Enhancement Facility, a fund founded by KfW and IFC.

The fund with a volume of USD 500 million is registered in Luxembourg and provides financing to local micro enterprises in Eastern Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean. This contributes to creating and securing jobs and to strengthening the private sector in the target countries.

Together with the two founders IFC and KfW, OeEB was the first institution to subscribe to the fund in May 2009. OeEB’s first investment of USD 20.5 million was increased in October 2014 by another USD 10 million.
