This year's Austrian World Summit will take place in Vienna’s Hofburg under the motto "Creating Hope - Inspiring Action" on June 14. OeEB is once again a partner of the event. Actively contributing to climate protection is firmly anchored in OeEB's strategy - at least 40% of new business should be invested in climate-related projects and a climate-neutral portfolio should be achieved by 2050 at the latest. With long-term investments in renewable energy and energy efficiency, OeEB contributes to combating climate change and a "green recovery" after the COVID-19 pandemic.

On behalf of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Finance, OeEB provides long-term financing and equity and thus contributes to sustainable growth and economic development. In addition to financing for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises and private infrastructure projects in developing and emerging countries, the focus is on projects in the field of renewable energy and energy efficiency.

Under the motto "Creating Hope - Inspiring Action", the Austrian World Summit will take place on June 14 in Vienna and - especially in view of the current times of crisis – aims to send a positive signal to the world that gives hope for peace and a sustainable future through joint action. OeEB, together with its parent company, Oesterreichische Kontrollbank (OeKB), is again a partner of the conference.

Financing climate-friendly growth

OeEB is one of the largest Austrian providers of international climate finance. With its investments, OeEB helps to achieve the financing goals agreed worldwide. OeEB uses targeted financing in the field of renewable energy in order to cover the increasing energy requirements in developing countries due to population and economic growth in the most climate-friendly way possible.

OeKB and its contribution to climate protection

Alongside OeEB, OeKB is also committed to finding solutions to deal with the climate crisis. In March 2021, it successfully issued its second sustainability bond, the net issue proceeds of which flow into OeEB's environmental and social projects. In addition, a broad package of measures was developed in cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Finance to strengthen the competitiveness of the Austrian export economy. With these export impulses, a special focus is placed on the topics of environment, climate and sustainability. As with the Exportinvest Green financing solution introduced in 2019, this provides targeted incentives for environmental improvements.
