In August 2022, OeEB signed a bilateral project financing agreement worth EUR 26 million with Triveni Renewables Private Limited (“TRPL”), India. The credit line enabled the construction of a greenfield solar glass plant with a capacity of 240 tonnes per day. In June 2025, OeEB granted a further EUR 6 million for the expansion of production to include bifacial/double-sided solar glass modules and for the increased use of metal pallets for shipping solar glass.

Solar glass is a special type of structural glass used in solar modules. TRPL's planned manufacturing facility will allow the production of solar glass with different thicknesses and dimensions to meet the requirements of individual solar module producers.

The funds provided by OeEB in 2022 enabled the construction of a greenfield solar glass factory with a capacity of 240 tonnes per day in the city of Rajahmundry in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The glass factory has been operational since September 2023 and is helping to promote the development of local solar module production in India, thereby reducing the country's dependence on imports.

The trend towards bifacial solar modules necessitated additional investments to enable the production of solar glass for bifacial modules. In 2025, OeEB provided an additional EUR 6 million for this purpose, as well as for capex investments to expand the use of reusable metal pallets instead of wooden pallets for shipping solar glass.
