The recently published Three-Year Programme 2025–2027 sets out the strategic guidelines for Austria's development policy. As one of the central players in Austrian development cooperation, OeEB aligns its work with the priorities defined in this programme.
The Three-Year Programme on Austrian Development Policy 2025–2027 defines the strategic direction of Austria's development policy and aims to address current global development challenges. It was developed in a broad consultation process involving government actors – including OeEB – as well as civil society. Implementation will be accompanied by working groups and an annual progress report.
Reflecting the priorities of the Austrian government programme, the Three-Year Programme builds on key approaches that are also embedded in OeEB's strategy and policy papers:
- Human rights-based approach
- Gender-transformative approach
- Paris Alignment (in line with the goals of the Paris Agreement)
The following thematic priorities have been defined for the period 2025–2027 (with those of particular relevance to OeEB highlighted):
- Responding to humanitarian crises
- Promoting sustainable economic and social development
- Safeguarding peace
- Climate protection and sustainable energy, environmental conservation, and the protection of natural resources
- Supporting education and science
Umbrella brand: International Partnerships Austria
The new umbrella brand "International Partnerships Austria" was also introduced alongside the Three-Year Programme. It serves as a shared communication platform for all Austrian actors working globally for sustainable development. OeEB will also adopt this brand, demonstrating its contribution to the objectives of Austria's development policy.
