In its 2024–2028 strategy, OeEB set itself the goal of implementing gender lighthouse projects that proactively contribute to gender equality. The Global Gender Smart Fund (GGSF) marks OeEB's first project of this kind. In an impact story, OeEB presents its contribution to strengthening the fund's gender impact.
Gender lighthouse projects go beyond traditional, demand-driven initiatives and, from OeEB's perspective, represent an important contribution to advancing gender equality. They combine, for example, development-focused interventions, improved data collection, targeted evaluations, and innovative financing solutions. The aim is to effectively close identified gender gaps, achieve sustainable impact, and develop models that are scalable and replicable.
With the Global Gender Smart Fund (GGSF), the first gender lighthouse project has now been successfully completed. Through concrete measures to promote women's economic participation, as well as accompanying technical assistance, long-term structures were established and the fund's gender focus significantly strengthened.
The results have been compiled in an impact story. An important step toward making insights and best practices available for future gender lighthouse projects.
