OeEB signed a long-term credit line of USD 5 million for AccessBank Tajikistan. The funds will be directed to lending to local micro, small and medium-sized enterprises.
The Tajik private sector consists primarily of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSME). However, their business activities and development are hampered by insufficient financing possibilities.
Providing financial services to local MSME is a main focus of AccessBank Tajikistan. In its financing activities, the bank focuses on the agricultural, retail and service sector as well as on small and medium-sized production companies.
OeEB’s funds contribute to enhancing AccessBank Tajikistan’s lending activities to micro and small businesses which will improve these businesses' access to finance. This enables them to invest and to secure and create jobs, which contributes to strengthening the private sector in Tajikistan.
With Advisory Programmes funds, OeEB lay the foundation for the establishment of AccessBank Tajikistan.
